General Information:

The Workshop sponsored by Arizona Institute for renewable Energy will be held on November 17-19, 2008 in the Memorial Union building at the Tempe campus of Arizona State University. The scope of the workshop includes three focus areas – research, education and outreach. The exhibition space will be available for the innovators, companies and non-profit organizations, which have focus in renewable energy. Sponsors are welcome.

At the research section of the workshop ASU scientists and invited speakers from local, national and international research institutions will make review and feature presentations on their research in one of the technical focus areas of the workshop – solar energy conversion in electricity and fuel, bioenergy, energy transformation and storage (fuel cells, batteries and hydrogen storage) and integration of alternative energy sources into electric power grids

The educational section will include tutorial lectures in the key science and technology areas of materials and systems design for energy transformation and storage. The program will also include presentations and discussion on development and coordination of renewable energy programs in Arizona (courses, curriculum, seminars, etc.).

The outreach section of the meeting will include presentations of innovators in Arizona who are looking for various tech transfer options for their innovations (licensing, spin-off, investment, joint development, etc.). This section will also cover the area of collaboration with the local, national and international business community on partnership in development of novel renewable technologies and their housing in Arizona. Manufactures, investors and funding agencies are welcome to present their prospective and proposals on development, licensing and funding research in renewable energy.
